I think that it should be because if she gets pregnant it is her fault because she let it happen and if she gets raped she should put it up for adoption because that baby should not have to die it is just like going out and shooting someone because you don't like them if you want to kill anybody kill the guy that raped you not your baby.

Personally, I could never have an abortion, but I understand why other women do, and I don't condemn them for it. There are so many social, economic, moral, and political questions that go into the issue. I don't really think that it should be a political issue at all. Everyone should have the right to privacy, and that includes personal medical decisions like abortion. Too many religious people say that their religion should be a reason that abortion be outlawed. I disagree. We have freedom of religion, and therefore you cannot establish law on the stated morality of a religion. You can't legislate morality. I do think that certain limitations should be put on it though. Partial birth abortion should be completely outlawed, and doctors who practice it should lose their medical license on the first offense. I don't think late term abortion should be freely practiced either. There are some medical reasons to have an abortion as well. Such as when the mother's/child's life is in danger. I also believe that rape and incest are not issues that should be taken lightly. As far as social and economic issues go, there are far too many unwanted children. They crowd our orphanages and streets. I'm not saying that they don't have value, but if a child is unwanted, they often end up in government funded programs. Then many continue on to rely on the government their whole life because it's all they know. Of course there are exceptions to every rule, but it is a reality in our society. In the end, I strongly disagree with abortion, but I also don't really think that we can legislate an outright ban on it. Just like with everything, I think there is a middle road and we should take it.

I do not think it should be repealed; it is the woman's right to her body. I am not saying I agree with abortion, it is the woman's fault that she got pregnant. There are so many ways to prevent pregnancy. Abortion seems to be a "way out" of the pregnancy, but that is not right, people, couples, and women should take more responsibility for their actions. Then there is the rape side of the argument, a woman who is raped should, in my opinion, be the only one allowed to get an abortion. In an ideal world this would work, however, in our world this would not be possible. Too many people lie about these things anyway, imagine how many would lie if this was the case.

i think it is all up in the air because many people will choose to fight against it until the choice is in their hands because of unforseen cercumstances also females are able to get to pregnant at the age of 9 at the earlist... how would you feel if your relative, friend, or aquantince got pregnant at 9 and they could not abort teh child because of the laws?

I think that abortion is an issue that the government should regulate only partially. It is the right of the mother to make that decision. The only regulation that I think is nessecary is the inability to abort a child that is perfectly healthy, consensually created and over a certain point in the development.

I think it should to a point, if you can't keep your legs closed, you should be denied, but if you were raped, why would you want to have your rapest child inside you, growing and feeding off your life source for the 40 weeks it takes to carry that child, you already haft to try to live with being raped, which is something you really never can come back from, exesive nightmares, phantom feelings... Also, if giving birth to a child is going to kill you, why would you just carry a child to die....

I think it should cause abortion is really a sad thing in this world. I just dont understand how a person could kill something so innocent and not even give it a chance sure its going to be a rough time but if you cant keep your legs closed you should have to go through it.

I do not agree with abortion, but I also think it is the woman's decision.

I think that it should be repealed. The majority of woman who have abortions know exactly what the consequences are of having sex, and an abortion is just "the easy way out" for them.

I can understand a woman wanting to have an abortion if she was raped or the baby was a product of incest. Who would want to carry a baby that had come of those things? However, it is wrong to take someone's life, and just because you were wronged, doesn't mean that you should take it out on an innocent baby.

Yes, a woman does have a right to do what she wants with her body. But, that doesn't include harming someone else (the baby). There are many people out there who are wanting to adopt babies, and that is a much better solution then abortion.

A worried woman went to her gynecologist and said: "Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even 1 year old and I'm pregnant again. I don't want kids so close together." So the doctor said: "OK and what do you want me to do?" She said: "I want you to end my pregnancy and I'm counting on your help with this." After some thought the doctor said to her: "I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for you too." She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request. Then he continued: "You see, in order for you not to have to take care of 2 babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we're going to kill one of them, it doesn't matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms." The lady was horrified and said: "No doctor! How terrible! It's a crime to kill a child!" "I agree", the doctor replied. "But you seemed to be OK with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution". The doctor smiled, realizing he had made his point.

I think it should be. If that woman to the risk of having sex and got pregnant that is her fault. But in the instance of a rape victim then things are different.

I agree with Sloan. A baby is completely innocent and should not have to die for a mother's mistake. If it's a rape victim, put it up for adoption. I believe abortion is an infringement on the baby's right to live. I'm sure glad I was not aborted.

I would never get an abortion, but it's a personal decision whether you want to do that or not. No one should have a say in it other than the person who is doing it. If the girl gets pregnant on her own accord, then she should deal with the consequences. If the girl was raped, it should be her decision what she does with it. As for some people, they need to think, what if a thirteen year old girl was raped and got pregnant. What if the girl was your daughter? Even if she was raped and she did decide to give it up for adoption, people are still going to look at her and think she did it to herself and it's going to start a bunch of rumors, taunting, and everything else. She would become an outcast to everyone she knows.

I agree with Cassie. It's up to the woman what she wants to do with her body and baby.

I don't think abortion is right, and people have to make their own decisions and live with consequences. I consider abortion no better than murder, because you are killing a living being that is not technically yours, it is its own organism. But it will never end anyway, if we make it illegal then people will just do it illegally like they do with drugs so it is really just up to your own decision.

I agree with cassie! A woman can decide what to do with her body and her baby. But that doesn't mean I think it's okay. I would never do something like that. But I see why other people would do it.

Say what you want but putting a baby up for adoption that is a product of rape is not only bad for the mother's mental state but the child's as well. And again if you have a problem with something like this that is a personal choice just boycott it. Mind your own business. I know this town is not like that, everyone knows everything about everyone but go to the anywhere bigger and people will hate you for being so nosey.

I agree with Sloaner Boner. If a girl gets pregnant, she should have to deal with the responsibility. It's her fault for not having safe sex. Now if she's raped or molested or something like that, then she should have to set the baby up for adoption. Don't kill the kid, what if he or she is the next president or super hero, or MVP? Come on maaaaannnn!

She shouldn't because it's not gonna be good for a baby if she get pregnant or already pregnant.

I agree with Sloan. It is the women and girls problems that they get pregnant. They are the one doing it and they know what happens so they are taking the risk.

Misser Hamilton said...

No, I do not think women should get pregnant and just keep having abortions but you have to think about the rape cases too. It is the mothers decision what she does with her body.

I personally abortion is wrong, and that every baby deserves a chance at life, but when it comes down to repealing Roe vs. Wade, there is no way that a majority of the American people would support it. I would love to see revisions to the case, but I doubt it will ever happen.

Yes, I definitely think the Roe v. Wade decision should be repealed. For me, what it comes down to is consequences. If you think you're mature enough and ready to have sex, then you are mature enough and ready to care for a child. You can't kill your problems. Abortion should NOT be a means of birth control, but for many women, it is. According to statistics, 95% of women choose abortion because they don't feel they can afford a baby, it's inconvenient timing, they think they're too you, or for other related reasons. The other 5% are performed because of rape, mother's health problems, or fetus abnormalties. (http://www.abortiontv.com/Misc/AbortionStatistics.htm)
Since Roe v. Wade, 53,310,843 babies have been aborted and about 4,000 abortions are performed each day. Those are unbelievably high numbers. I don't agree with abortion for any reason, but if we could ban it for those people who use it as a means of birth control, we could save 95% of babies that would otherwise be aborted.
I can understand why people don't think abortion should be a political issue, but we could say that about anything. Absolutely every law that we have in the United States has moral ties to it. The truth of it is, our country was founded on Christian principles. That doesn't mean we have an established religion or that everyone in America is Christian, but moral issues and political issues are always going to coincide.
Who are we to deprive a baby of their right to live? Even Norma McCorvey, the woman who initiated the Roe v. Wade case regrets what she started. We got the chance to live this life, and I think every baby deserves the same chance that we have been given.

I don't think it should be pepealed. It should be the womans choise to decide what she wants.

yes because to me no one won the case but i give it one more chance to let some one win the case.

I believe that the case should be repealed and given another look. I really do not believe in abortion and it definitely comes down to your morals and your beliefs.
